Jakarta Vice Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat appreciated Yudi Karyono (52), a middle-aged man who walked using an enggrang (bamboo stick) from Yogyakarta to the City Hall.

Considering, the man's visit reminded of the ancestral heritage traditional toys that getting eroded by modern toys. 

"When I was a child, I could play enggrang. We made it from bamboo, wood for August 17 competition. Enggrang running competition. Now the game is getting disappeared," said Djarot when he welcomed Yudi at City Hall, Tuesday (8/4). 

According to Djarot, the enggrang has many benefits such as exercising balance of thinking and concentration of left and right brain spontaneously and automatically. Therefore, the game is supposed to be preserved and played again by kids until teenagers in Jakarta. 

"Probably in Jakarta, the game is already gone, but in village such game is still played by kids," he expressed.
